The people of Richmond Hill commenced a new and exciting journey of connection, innovation and change as Council approved the new Strategic Plan, entitled A Plan for People, a Plan for Change, at their meeting this past Monday.
“It’s been about the people from day one,” said Mayor Dave Barrow. “We heard from people of all ages and backgrounds, school children, the storeowners where we buy our groceries, the volunteers helping those in need and the businesses that drive our economy. They are what make this community what it is and who this plan for the future is for; this new Strategic Plan is truly their voice,” added Mayor Barrow.
The Strategic Plan, which focuses on the goals and aspirations of the people, provides a long-term vision and direction for the Town by stating:
“Richmond Hill, where people come together to build our community”. The plan clearly articulates a mission, vision, goals, outcomes and strategies that respect the balance between people, the environment and the economy, while also inspiring change.
“This plan is not effective unless we put it into action. Council and staff will work together with the community, to realize this vision for Richmond Hill that we all share,” said Mayor Barrow.
