At its recent Women in Business awards presentation, MB Magazine recognized the achievements of a number of the region’s most successful business women. Carefully selected from the magazine’s list of advertisers over the years, each of the women featured on the following pages was presented with a ‘collector’ plaque presented by the MB staff. The purpose of this new award is to recognize some of the women who are making a difference and contributing to the long-term prosperity of our community.
The venue for the presentation was the prestigious new Markham Executive Offices, located on Highway 7 near Warden Avenue and managed by Elizabeth Dawson, herself an award recipient on the day. The occasion and the setting, not to mention the dynamic recipients, combined to make this a most enjoyable and successful day – as well as a highly charged networking opportunity for all.
These women operate in highly diverse fields – from banking, insurance, advertising and marketing to office supplies, office management, optical services and alternative therapies. But they have one thing in common: they are all highly successful in their chosen careers, and have either climbed the corporate ladder or started their own businesses. MB salutes them and all of the region’s business women, and is already on the lookout for the next group of recipients of the MB Women in Business awards.
